It offers a unique journey through ancient Egypt. The museum sits between Cairo and the Pyramids of Giza. Here, modern design also meets Egypt’s rich history. A Fusion of History and Innovation The museum was designed by Heneghan Peng Architects. Its triangular alabaster façade lets sunlight in, creating a golden desert effect inside. GEM also holds over 100,000 artifacts. In addition, these include the complete Tutankhamun collection, royal mummies, jewelry, and large statues. Highlights to Explore Grand Atrium: First, see the 12-meter statue of Ramses II. Then climb the Grand Staircase of History. Tutankhamun Galleries: Next, explore over 5,000 artifacts from the boy king’s tomb in detailed displays. Digital Experiences: For example, use AR, VR, and 3D projections to see temples and royal processions. Conservation Center: Also, watch archaeologists carefully preserve priceless relics behind glass. Gardens & Cafés: Finally, relax outside and enjoy views of the Giza Plateau. Visitor Tips Plan 3–4 hours for a full visit. In addition, this allows time to enjoy all exhibits. Book skip-the-line tickets or join a guided tour for a better experience.
